The challenge

Labor Management Federal Credit Union is a community-based credit union that found itself overwhelmed managing day-to-day technology alongside network security and compliance concerns. On top of that, the credit union was planning an expansion and new facility construction. Management needed to secure the credit union, increase operational efficiency, and coordinate the construction and migration to the new location — all at once, and all without jeopardizing member service. CEO Sherry Roberts, familiar with DC Plus through our reputation with other credit unions, retained our Total Care Managed Services plan and asked us to handle the technical design and implementation of the new facility.

Secured operations from day one

During onboarding, DC Plus deployed new security tools, configured and implemented disaster recovery plans, updated core software, and set up every end user with a helpdesk account. We performed a security assessment and built a plan for safe operations and FFIEC compliance, with ongoing patch management and security monitoring.

Designed the new facility's network

DC Plus worked closely with LMFCU and the building architects to ensure optimal, secure placement of the network and server infrastructure at the new facility, and developed proposals that let both locations operate during the transition — ensuring business continuity throughout the move.

Optimized and managed the network

Our Total Care package brought fully managed monitoring and maintenance, with end-point patching and software updates scheduled outside business hours, plus robust disaster recovery and AV/anti-malware protection for critical assets.

Migrated to a modern desktop

DC Plus identified which computers could be upgraded and which needed replacing, then deployed Windows 10 Professional and Office 365 across all PCs — giving staff fast, modern, secure desktops with the best collaboration tools available.
